Crest Environmental Limited was formed in December 1999 by directors Phil Hamlin and Colin Latimer. Both had been involved in the asbestos industry for many years (Phil since 1975 and Colin since 1983) and both had spent the preceding few years running the asbestos division of Qualitech Services Ltd.

Crest quickly became established and gained many new clients with a philosophy of providing only the highest standards of technical excellence, whilst still maintaining a competitive price structure. The office for the first 3 years was in Haydock, Merseyside, but in June 2003 the operation was moved to nearby St Helens following the purchase of larger premises.
Crest are full members of ARCA (Asbestos Removal Contractor Association) and were one of the first few to be awarded the ARCA Site Audit Accreditation Scheme Quality Assurance Award in October 2001. Crest are also certified with Constructionline, CHAS and SAFE Contractor.
